Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Golden Road Vineyards collects when you use this website, sign up for our newsletter or text messages, ask to join our wine club, or buy from us, and what we do with it. We keep it short because we do not do much with your information: we use it to stay in touch and to get you your wine.
What we collect
What you give us
- Your name, email address and mobile number when you sign up for the newsletter or texts.
- Your name, email, mobile number and, if you want releases shipped, a delivery address when you ask to join the wine club.
- Your order details when you buy wine, tickets or a stay through the services linked from this site.
- Anything you write to us by email, phone or a form.
What we collect automatically
- Standard web analytics: the pages you visit, roughly where you are from your IP address, and your browser and device type. We use Vercel Analytics and Google Analytics for this.
- Whether you confirmed you are over 21, kept in your browser so we only ask once.
- The contents of your cart, kept in your browser while you shop.
How we use it
- To send the newsletter and event news you signed up for.
- To send marketing text messages, only if you ticked the box asking for them.
- To set up your wine club membership, tell you about releases and arrange pickup or shipping.
- To fulfil orders and answer your questions.
- To understand how the site is used so we can keep it working and improve it.
- To verify age where the law requires it for the sale of alcohol.
Text messages
If you tick the box to receive texts, we will send recurring marketing text messages from Golden Road Vineyards to the mobile number you gave: tasting room news, events, new releases, club pickup reminders and the occasional offer. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Agreeing to texts is never a condition of buying anything from us.
We keep a record of the wording you agreed to, the date and time, the form you used and the network address it came from, so we can show that you asked for these messages.
We will not share your opt-in to an SMS campaign with any third party for purposes unrelated to providing you with the services of that campaign. We may share your personal data, including your SMS opt-in or consent status, with third parties that help us provide our messaging services, including but not limited to platform providers, phone companies, and any other vendors who assist us in the delivery of text messages.
Your mobile information will not be sold or shared with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes.
You can stop at any time by replying STOP to any message we send. Reply HELP for help, or contact us using the details at the bottom of this page. The full program terms are in our Terms.
Your choices
- Newsletter: use the unsubscribe link in any email, or write to us and we will remove you.
- Text messages: reply STOP to any message. You can also write to us and we will opt you out by hand.
- Your information: write to us to see what we hold about you, correct it or have it deleted. We answer within 30 days. Deleting your information ends any newsletter, text or club relationship that depends on it.
Age
This site and our wine are for adults aged 21 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21, and if we learn we have, we delete it.
How long we keep it
We keep your contact details for as long as you are subscribed, opted in to texts or a club member, and afterwards only for as long as the law requires. Records of text message consent and opt-outs are kept for the period the Telephone Consumer Protection Act allows claims to be brought, so that we can show what you agreed to.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we update the date at the top of the page. If a change affects how we use information you have already given us, we will tell you by email or text before it takes effect.
